55 inches is a really popular TV size as many premium and budget TVs have a 55 inch screen size. But not every TV is the same. So, either you are upgrading from an older TV or buying an LED TV for the first time, you should have a clear picture (no pun intended) of what you want from your TV and how you are going to use it.
The ideal viewing distance of a TV is an essential factor to consider before buying a TV. A 55 inch LED TV should be viewed from a distance of 6.9 – 11.5 feet.
There isn’t any particular price constraint in this article. Still, for the sake of your convenience, I have divided the TVs into three categories – Budget, Mid-range, and Premium. If you do not want to end up with the wrong purchase then there’s a buying guide at the end, be sure that you don’t skip it, and let’s find the best 55 inch LED TV in India in 2024.

55 inch TVs are quite big so, one shouldn’t compromise with the display quality while buying a 55 inch TV.
The display quality of this TV can be easily compared with many premium TVs, and it’s nothing surprising as it comes from LG. It’s an ultra HD TV it as it comes with 4K resolution.
Low-resolution images are automatically upscaled by the picture engine of this TV. It’s a great feature because the 4K content isn’t easily available.
The Active HDR support and LG’s True Colour Accuracy account for sharp and detailed images with high colour accuracy.
Coming to the smart TV features. The TV comes with LG’s WebOS. Most of the popular applications are available… so, app availability isn’t a big issue in this TV. However, to use the AI features of this TV like voice control, you need LG’s Magic Remote, which sadly, doesn’t come with the TV. The rest of the smart TV features work pretty good.
The DTS Virtual:X support makes the 20 watts audio system of this TV quite satisfactory. However, a 30 watts audio system would have been better as it’s a 55 inch TV.
Connectivity options:
3 HDMI ports and 1 USB ports
Pros
- Impressive display quality
- Comes from a great brand
Cons
- Doesn’t come with the magic remote
- Thick bezels
- A bit expensive

Samsung crystal pro and LG UP7500 UHD TV both come with VA panels. The bezels of Samsung Crystal TVs are thin as compared to LG UHD TVs.The Picture quality is almost the same.LG TVs have a natural color profile but Samsung Crystal TV has a warm color profile, which is not natural. But you can always tweak the colors to your liking so not a big issue.
The Samsung crystal TVs come with a peak brightness of 350 nits whereas LG UHD TVs come with a peak brightness of 300 nits only. In the real world, the difference in brightness of both TVs is not noticeable. In the Motion Blur test, the LG TV wins with a very slight difference.
The WebOS of LG TV is more optimized as compared to Samsung’s Tizen OS. Even though both the TVs take five to six seconds to boot up the elements of the Samsung TV can take up to 10 seconds to fully load. Both TVs do not allow installing external apps.
In Samsung Crystal TVs you do not get any headphone jack but the LG does have one. So you should go for LG TV if you need a headphone jack. And if you are looking for a TV that overcomes the cons of both the TVs and provides better picture quality, then go for the Toshiba Qled TV.
Connectivity options:
3 HDMI ports and 2 USB ports
Pros
- Thin bezels
- Impressive display quality
- Comes from a great brand
Cons
- No headphone jack

TCL isn’t a very popular brand in India, but hey, it doesn’t mean that their TVs aren’t any good. And actually, it’s quite the opposite. For example, this TV right here is a complete value for money.
The 4K display of this TV comes with HDR 10 support. Micro Dimming has been implemented on this TV. This allows the TV to separately adjust the screen darkness and brightness, making this TV great at producing colours with high accuracy.
The display has been graded A+ but, the viewing angles are a bit off. But it’s pretty good if you consider the price of this TV.
AI Interconnection feature of this TV allows it to connect with the other smart home devices around you. And it’s a really convenient feature if you have several smart home devices in your house as you can control all of them from one place with this TV.
This TV too has a 20 watts audio system, but due to TLC’s AI Sound Engine, the audio quality of this TV is awe-inspiring. And there’s Bluetooth support for your aid if, just in case, you face any issues with the loudness.
It’s a certified Android TV. So, the regular updates, pre-installed applications, and availability of Google Play Store make this TV a true smart TV.
Connectivity options:
3 HDMI ports and 2 USB ports.
Pros
- Great display quality
- 16 GB storage
- Above-average sound quality
- Certified Android TV.

NanoCell technology is exclusive to LG TVs. NanocCell displays are great at maintaining colour “purity”. Which means, high colour accuracy from every viewing angle.
There’s no doubt that this TV comes with one of the most beautiful looking displays in this price range. The 4K resolution, IPS display panel, and NanoCell technology act as an epic trio in this TV.
The TV comes with 4K Active HDR, which is LG’s way of saying HDR 10 Pro. It does the same thing, improves colour accuracy and picture detail.
It’s a really premium looking TV. The Nano Bezels give this TV a really appealing look.
Apple AirPlay and HomeKit are a great delight for Apple users. This feature allows you to control the TV through Apple’s AI assistant Siri, a really neat feature.
And if you are not an Apple user then, the built-in Google Assistant and Alexa will do the job for you.
The audio system of this TV is definitely one of the best. The DTS Virtual:X gives you a multi-dimensional audio experience. AI Acoustic Tuning adjusts the audio of the TV according to your room arrangement. Cool, right?
Connectivity options:
4 HDMI ports and 3 USB ports
Pros
- Impressive display quality
- Great sound quality
- Apple AirPlay2 and Apple HomeKit support
- Built-in Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
Cons
- No cons
Verdict
Easily, the best 55 inch LED TV in India under 100k.
Note: A similar LG NanoCell TV comes with a 40 watts sound system, 100-hertz refresh rate, and slightly better display quality. But it costs more than 100k. You can have a look at the TV here.
Vu Masterpiece QLED TV
- Resolution – 2160p, 4K
- RAM – 3 GB
- Operating System – Certified Android
- Bluetooth Support -Yes
- Refresh Rate – 120 hertz
- Weight- 15.6 Kg
- Warranty -1 Year
Vu Qled TV is the real masterpiece in this price range. The Qled IPS panel in this price range is unbelievable, the picture quality you get on this tv is marvelous with natural color profile and a comparatively better contrast ratio than most IPS display TVs, it beats some higher-priced TVs in terms of picture quality(including Samsung frame Qled TV).800 nits peak brightness,120hz refresh rate, VRR, FreeSync, Auto Low Latency Mode, MEMC, and 6.5 ms response time(all together in one TV) are almost impossible to find in this price range so you should consider this TV if you are a gamer.
It comes with Android OS and takes 30 seconds to boot up(not bad for an android TV). This TV supports Dolby Digital, Dolby digital plus, Dolby atmos, Dolby vision, and MS12. The storage capacity of this TV is 16 GB, out of which only 7.9 GB is free and the rest 8.1 GB space is used by android OS. Now, even though the RAM is 3 GB, 1GB of it is allocated for hardware use only. That’s why you see 2 GB RAM available for use.
This TV is marketed with a 4.1 channel speaker surround. Even though the sound quality is good enough the 4.1 channel speaker surround is a gimmick. But you can always buy a soundbar if needed. So here’s a soundbar I recommend:Zebronics Zeb-Juke Bar
Now let’s compare it with some other TVs in terms of picture quality. Sony Bravia is an IPS display TV and you know that Qled TVs are superior in terms of picture quality but the Vu Masterpiece TV being IPS Qled TV is far superior in terms of picture quality as compared to any IPS display TV(including Sony Bravia). The VU TV’s contrast ratio is better than the Samsung frame TV that’s why the picture quality of the VU masterpiece is better than the Samsung frame.
Connectivity options:
4 HDMI ports and 2 USB ports.
Pros
- Great display quality
- IPS QLED Panel
- 120 Hz refresh rate
- Dedicated game and sports mode
- AMD freesync
- 6.5 ms response time
Cons
- 4:1 surround is a gimmick
Verdict
The picture quality of this tv is better than most Qled TVs and even OLED TVs, this makes it the best 55 inch tv under the 1,00,000 budget. The OLED TVs are considered superior to QLED TVs because the colors of OLED TVs are better but the blacks of QLED TVs are better as compared to Oled TVs. Well, this is the best 55 inch TV in India 2024 for gamers.
OnePlus QLED (55 Inches) 4K UHD LED Smart TV
- Resolution – 2160p, 4K
- RAM -3 GB
- Operating System – Certified Android
- Bluetooth Support -Yes
- Refresh Rate – 480 SMR
- Weight- 19.5Kg
- Warranty -1 year Manufacturer Warranty
OnePlus did its best to make its place in the TV market. The pro version of this TV, which costs almost 100k, is entirely overpriced. But this TV(the basic version) is a really good QLED TV.
You can’t talk about this TV without talking about its design. It’s one of the best looking TVs in the market. Minimal bezels in this TV give you a screen to body ratio of up to 95.7%.
The display quality of this TV isn’t as good as the QLED TVs by Samsung. Now, don’t get me wrong here, the display of this TV is great, but it doesn’t compete with the Samsung QLED TVs.
The Dolby Atmos support makes the 50 watts audio system of this TV even better. Dolby Atmos provides you clearer and more immersive audio experience.
There was no Netflix support when this TV came out, but now you do get Netflix support, and there’s even a dedicated button for Netflix on the TV remote
Connectivity options:
4 HDMI ports and 2 USB ports
Pros
- QLED display
- Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision
- 50 watts audio system
- Appealing design
Cons
- The stand needs to be purchased separately.
Verdict
This QLED TV by OnePlus is a good option to consider if you are not willing to for the expensive QLED TVs by Samsung.
Samsung QLED (55 Inches) 4K UHD LED Smart TV
- Resolution – 2160p, 4K
- RAM -2 GB
- Operating System – Tizen
- Bluetooth Support -Yes
- Refresh Rate – 60 hertz
- Weight- 16.2 Kg
- Warranty -1 year Manufacturer Warranty
Samsung QLED TVs are the best when it comes to screen brightness and image detail levels. These TVs are based on Samsung’s signature QLED technology so, they are generally quite expensive.
Quantum dot technology is responsible for vibrant colour shades. Quantum HDR 4X separately analyzes every frame and optimizes the screen brightness for great picture quality. And as it’s a QLED TV, the image contrast ratio is really impressive
AI Upscaling helps in making the best use of the 4K display. It helps in solving problems like low image detail levels, image noise, and soft edges. And the result is a brighter and better image.
It comes with Airplay Support. And this allows you to cast content from your phone screen to your TV. However, there’s no Apple HoemKit support so, you won’t be able to control this TV with Apple’s AI assistant Siri.
The Intelligent mode is perhaps the best feature of this TV and makes it a true smart TV. It gives this TV the ability to adjust the screen’s brightness and sound according to your room environment and the content you are watching.
Another unique feature of this TV is its Music System mode. And as the name suggests, this mode turns your TV into a music system and gives your playlist a visual look. Nothing special but a really fun feature.
Connectivity options:
4 HDMI ports and 2 USB ports
Pros
- QLED display
- Intelligent mode
- Bixby AI assistant
Cons
- Quite expensive
Verdict
You can never go wrong while buying a QLED TV. This TV is a bit expensive, but many smart TV features and great display quality leave you with nothing to complain about after you have bought this TV.

OLED TVs revolutionized the TV viewing experience. They are famous for their ‘infinite contrast ratios. And if you are looking for a premium TV then, going for an OLED TV is the most obvious thing to do.
The OLED displays require no introduction. Their individually lit pixels can produce the most extensive range of colours and that too with maximum accuracy.
However, this is not a basic OLED TV by LG. It has got a better picture engine and a better processor. The AI Picture engine reduces image noise and increases image sharpness for more detailed pictures and, AI Brightness can adjust the brightness of the screen according to the content that you are watching.
The Dolby Atmos support, along with the AI Acoustic Tuning gives you the best audio experience with the help of the 40 watts audio system.
Connectivity options:
4 HDMI ports and 3 USB ports
Pros
- OLED display
- Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision
- Impressive AI features
Cons
- OLED TVs have a risk of screen burn-in (know more in the buying guide)

LG owns the OLED technology so, the OLED display panel of this TV is a product of LG. But it doesn’t mean that their picture quality is the same. The difference lies in the way the picture engine of the TV processes the image.
It’s an OLED TV, so you get an excellent contrast ratio. The 4K HDR X1 processor of this TV upscales the images to near 4K resolution so, you can get the most out of the 4K display panel.
The Triluminos display of this TV provides bright colours without oversaturation or losing detail levels and the 4K X- Reality pro engine individually enhances every pixel across the scene for more life-like images.
Acoustic Surface Audio technology uses two actuators behind the TV to vibrate the TV screen to provide more immersive sound. And the subwoofer helps in delivering powerful and deep bass.
There isn’t any significant difference between the displays of LG OLED TVs and Sony OLED TVs. But if you want to know more then, you can visit this link- LG C9 OLED vs Sony A8G OLED
Connectivity options:
4 HDMI ports and 3 USB ports
Pros
- OLED display
- Certified Android TV
Cons
- Only 1 GB RAM for a TV which costs more than 150K
Verdict
A certified Android TV with an OLED display simply, a great duo.
Samsung (55 Inches) 4K UHD LED Smart TV

It’s 2024, and people still don’t prefer curved displays but, once you get the hang of them, trust me, there’s no turning back. If viewed from the right distance, the curved screens can provide a phenomenal immersive experience.
It’s a QLED TV, so the screen brightness is at its best. This TV uses Anti Glare technology to minimize the screen reflections so that you can focus on what’s actually on the screen.
The unique thing about this TV is the way it tries to be more than just a rectangle when it’s not being used as a TV. Ambient Mode can be used to set an interactive background that matches your room environment. It can play some music in the background or display photos from your gallery.
QLED TVs have a better life span when compared to OLED TVs as they don’t have any risk of screen burn-in. (OLED vs QLED in the Buying Guide below)
Connectivity options:
4 HDMI ports and 3 USB ports
Pros
- QLED display
- Curved Display
- Awesome sound quality
Cons
- No Bluetooth
Verdict
QLED technology was Samsung’s answer to LG’s OLED TVs and if you are not really a fan OLED TVs then going for a QLED TV is perhaps the best option for you. So, here’s a QLED TV for you with a curved display and excellent smart features.

Buying Guide
This buying guide talks about some of the TV technologies, what a 55 inch TV can do, OLED vs QLED and how you can use your 4K TVs to their maximum potential.
Resolution
Almost every 55 inch TV comes with a 4K (2160p) resolution. TVs with a 4K resolution are called Ultra HD TVs.
It has been a few years since the 4K resolution came out, but the content availability is still an issue. Most of the set-top boxes don’t support 4K resolution. However, there are a few set-top boxes which come with 4K resolution, but then it is difficult to find the channels which are capable of showing 4K content.
But it doesn’t mean that there’s no 4K content. Apps like YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video etc. come with 4K support. Another problem that you might face is internet speed. To stream 4K videos, you need a fast internet connection; the speed of 25-30 Mbps is necessary for a smooth experience.
But it doesn’t mean that your 4K display will be entirely useless. When a low-resolution image is displayed on the TV with a high resolution, the TV upscales the image resolution for better viewing experience. Due to this, a 1080 image will look better on a 4K TV when compared to a 1080p TV.
OLED vs QLED
The working of OLED and QLED TVs is completely different from each other. The OLED panels can emit their own light when an electric current is passed through them. On the other hand, the LCD or LED TVs require a backlight as an external light source. Even the QLED TVs work this way but they come with a lot of enhancements.
But here, we are not concerned with the working of OLED and QLED TVs. The question here is – which one’s better?
And as you might have guessed, there isn’t any clear answer but, I will try my best. Have a look at the table below to know about the key benefits of OLED and QLED displays.
OLED
- High(infinite) contrast ratio
- Better detail levels
- Better viewing angles
QLED
- Better brightness
- Longer life span
As you can see, both of them have their own advantages. This makes it even more difficult to decide which one’s better. And this is where you come in. The way you are going to use your TV can help you in making a good decision.
QLED TVs are great when it comes to screen brightness. So, if you are planning to install the TV in a well-lit room then, going for a QLED TV should be a reasonable thing to do.
OLED TVs are great in terms of picture quality. And that’s the biggest reason why they are preferred over the QLED TVs.
Screen burn in is a problem with the OLED TVs. Screen burn in happens when a part of an image is retained on the screen when left idle for a long time. And by long time I mean 7-8 hours. So you see it won’t be a problem for general users but it is a big problem for gamers. Because many UI elements remain stationary on the screen while playing a game.
So, if you are planning to connect your console to the TV then going for a QLED TV is the best option.
Here’s a video which compares the OLED and QLED TVs
Dolby Atmos
Many premium and mid range TVs come with Dolby Atmos so, having a rough idea about it is necessary.
Dolby Atmos is an upgrade from Dolby Digital which can be easily found in basic TVs. And it’s a big upgrade because Dolby Atmos can provide you 360 degree audio experience. But, only a TV with Dolby Atmos support won’t help you much, to truly enjoy Dolby Atmos you need to strategically install the speakers in your living room which includes speakers on the ceiling.
And let’s be honest here, no one’s going to do that. So, to make things easier you can get a sound bar or a home theatre which comes with Dolby Atmos support. It won’t be as great as speakers all around you but even then you will have awesome audio experience.
So, if you are interested in surround sound experience then be sure that you get a TV with Dolby Atmos support.
Smart TVs
Smart TVs are awesome because of their ability to connect with Internet. This makes them really versatile.
The operating system of a smart TV plays the most crucial role in its functioning. Certified Android TVs are the best when it comes to user friendliness and reliability.
The most important thing which you should be concerned about is the application availability. And the certified Android TVs are the best when it comes to this aspect. But if you are going for a non-Android TV then just try to be sure that it has all the applications that you need.

I m looking to buy a led tv . Not sure which size to go 50 or 55 inch.
Viewing distance is just more than 3 meters
Can u guide which size and which tv to go for.
Budget 45000
Go for a 50-inch tv if viewing distance is less than 3.048 meters. A 50 inch TV fits in your budget and will have more features than a 55-inch TV.But if viewing distance falls somewhere between 3.048 meters to 3.5052 meters then go for a 55 inch tv.
Here are my Top 3 Picks for 50 inch tv
Hisense 50 inch TV
LG 50 inch Ultra HD TV
Oneplus 50 inch TV
i wanna buy a 55inch tv. what do u expect from a tv? long life and great picture quality/viewing experience. so thats exactly what im looking for. the ui should not be laggy and it should have every bit of lastest features in it like hdr10+, e-arc, dolby atmos, viewing netflix/amazon in 4k hdr and dolby so yup? which ones the best? no budget limit but it would be better if its below 80k. basically i wanna have the best picture quality? idk if qleds are better than normal samsung crystal pro or lg nanocells. because i know lg and sony 4k tvs are as good as many companies qleds so… any help would be appreciated.
QLED and OLED TVs are undoubtedly in a different league. As you have mentioned the budget not being an issue, I don’t think I will recommend you an LG NanoCell or any other standrard display TV.
Go for this Samsung QLED TV. It fits perfectly in your budget and the display is as good as it can get in this budget. The OS is great and all the important UI features are available.
You will have to extend your budget to get this LG OLED TV, but since you mentioned you are looking for the best picture quality, I would say the extra bucks are worth it.
Hi Tushar,
That was nice good Info for the Smart TV’s. Could u plz let me know which smart TV for 55-65inch with all new technology ( 4K UHD) good display, Sound Dolby atmos, Google assistant etc etc, in budget of 40-45k with long life.
Vu Qled Premium TV is a new tv in the market so, I have not tested it till now but it is the only Qled tv you can get under 45000 and it also supports both Dolby Vision and Dolby atmos, this is the best deal you can get right now but if you want to buy a TV from brands like Sony,LG and Samsung then you have to increase your budget.
