Lenovo Ideapad 3

best laptops under 50000 in india 2024
  • Screen Size – 15.6 inches
  • Resolution – 1080p (Full HD)
  • Processor Type – Ryzen 5 5500U
  • RAM Size – 8 GB
  • Storage – 512GB SSD
  • GPU- Integrated Graphics
  • Operating System – Windows 11
  • Item Weight -1.65kg
  • Warranty – Two-year Warranty
  • Battery Backup – 3-4 hours

Featuring the latest Ryzen 5500U, all the necessary features that you might expect from a laptop under 50000, and some that are not very common, Lenovo Ideapad 3 is definitely my number-one pick for this category.

Specs and overview

This arctic grey Lenovo Ideapad 3 has to be one of the best-looking budget laptops. From the light but sturdy build quality and sleek design, this laptop is absolutely a device that students or working professionals can use on daily basis. Even after having a 15.6-inch screen and packing a full-size keyboard, the laptop weighs only 1.6KG. But don’t let its light weight fool you, thanks to the fifth-gen Ryzen 5, this laptop can act like a beast when it needs to and can handle almost any task that you throw at it.
Out of the box, it comes with 8 gigs of RAM and a 512GB SSD, which is pretty much the ideal configuration in this price range and is decent enough for most users.

Display and Battery Backup

The Lenovo Ideapad 3 comes with a standard 15.6-inch 1080p display, having a peak brightness of 250 nits. The display quality is pretty decent as long as you stick to basic usage like editing a document, browsing the internet, or watching a movie in Full HD.

Lenovo claims the battery backup to be between 6-7 hours, but during real-life usage, you can expect it to last for 4-5 hours after a full charge. A compromise has been made with battery life to make the laptop thin and light, but it isn’t anything new in this price segment. The rapid charge feature is surely a good one as it can charge the laptop up to 70% in an hour.

Extra features

Some extra features provided by Lenovo Ideapad 3 make it stand apart from its competitors and also make it considerably more user-friendly. Backlit keyboards are nothing new but not every laptop in this price range has got one. The addition of a backlit keyboard makes the Lenovo Ideapad 3 an ideal choice for those who often find themselves working during the night.

The 720p HD camera and AI noise cancellation surely make the online meetings and classes slightly less painful!
Lenovo Ideapad 3 is one of the very few laptops in this price range that come with the latest Windows 11 and pre-installed Office 2021.

The latest HP 15 costs slightly more than 50K, but the new Ryzen 5 5500U is more than adequate to justify its price tag. Plus if you manage to get this laptop during a festive season and claim some limited-time offers, you can fit this laptop right well in your budget.

Design and build quality

No major changes have been introduced to the design of this year’s HP 15. And I think I am okay with it, not everything needs to be changed with time. Though the entire body is made of plastic, the laptop is quite sturdy. For day-to-day usage, HP 15 is just fine and the laptop itself looks and feels quite premium to use. The overall minimalistic design is quite appealing if you are planning to use the laptop in a professional environment.

Performance

Thanks to the latest Ryzen 5 5500U, the performance offered by HP 15 is perhaps the best in this price range. This Hexa-core CPU running at a base clock speed of 2.1 GHz absolutely demolishes almost any task that you throw at it. From editing a 4K
video to running a AAA game at 1080p, this laptop can handle almost anything. I mean, of course, you won’t have the best possible experience but it’s still very impressive that you can now actually play games on an integrated GPU. Though I won’t recommend you to overdo it or else you might run into some possible heating issues.

Day-to-day productivity tasks and multitasking is where this laptop actually shines. It’s a reliable machine which won’t fail you when
you need it the most.

Display

Budget laptop displays have been cursed with mediocrity. With time everything about budget laptops is improving but the screens are still as disappointing as ever. Now don’t get me wrong here, it’s not that you are bound to have a bad experience while viewing anything on this laptop’s screen. It’s a 15.6-inch screen with 1080p resolution and good viewing angles. The display panel has a peak brightness of 250 nits, which is good for indoors but feels rather dim when you are outside.

And if you are like most users, this is all that you need to know, but if you are someone whose work requires you to be accurate with colors you will know how much of a disappointment this display really is. Color of the accuracy of 45% NTSC can prove to be a huge problem if you are into graphic designing or other similar professions. But considering that you are on a budget there aren’t many laptops that you can choose from. Getting an external monitor is perhaps one of the easiest solutions.

Storage options and Upgradability

This specific model comes with a 512GB SSD which is pretty good by today’s standards. There’s no slot for storage expansion but you can easily replace the installed SSD with one having more capacity. A single 8GB RAM stick with a clock speed of 3200MHz is installed on the motherboard and an additional slot is available for upgrading it to 16GB. As the AMD CPUs benefit heavily from dual-channel memory configuration, adding an additional RAM stick can help you in getting a significant performance boost.

Battery

HP claims that the laptop can provide a battery backup of up to 8 hours, but during my testing, I got an average battery backup of 5-6 hours.

Mi Notebook Horizon Edition 14

best laptops under 50000 in india
  • Screen Size – 14 inches
  • Resolution – 1080p (Full HD)
  • Processor Type – i5-10210U
  • RAM Size – 8 GB
  • Storage – 512GB SSD
  • GPU-NVIDIA GeForce MX 350 2GB
  • Operating System – Windows 10 Home
  • Item Weight -1.35kg
  • Warranty – One-year Warranty
  • Battery Backup – 6-7 hours

Mi Notebook Horizon 14 offers all that you can possibly demand from a laptop under 50000INR. It has great specs, probably the biggest reason why you might want to go for this laptop, and premium build quality gives it an edge over its competitors.

Horizon 14 is well equipped to handle most of the everyday tasks. The quad-core 10th gen CPU of this laptop has a base clock speed of 1.6GHz, and it can go up to 4.2GHz. Being a member of intel’s “U” series processors, this CPU is extremely power efficient and it helps the laptop in delivering a great battery backup.

The MX 350 GPU is quite surprising because laptops with dedicated GPUs are somewhat hard to find in this price range. Even though this GPU isn’t very powerful, it’s a great addition to the laptop’s specs. Thanks to this 2GB VRAM GPU,  Horizon 14 faces no difficulty while handling light video editing and some occasional gaming.

After powerful specs, build quality is the biggest strength of Mi Horizon 14. Some users have even compared the design and build quality of MI’s laptops to MacBook, well I won’t go that far, but still, it’s great because not every laptop in this price range looks and feels this premium.

This laptop doesn’t come with a built-in WebCam but you do get a detachable WebCam, which works great, as long as you don’t forget carrying it with you. And I appreciate Mi for making this bold move because the 14-inch screen of this laptop looks great due to its nano bezels.

Pros

  • Impressive specs
  • Great build quality
  • Good battery backup
  • Lightweight

Cons

  • RAM and storage can’t be upgraded
  • The keyboard isn’t backlit

Verdict

Powerful specs and excellent build quality of Horizon 14 overshadow its few drawbacks and make it one of the best laptops under 50000.

Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i 81WE018TIN

best laptop under 50000 in india 2024
  • Screen Size – 15.6 Inches
  • Resolution – 1080p (Full HD)
  • Processor Type – i5-1035G1
  • RAM Size – 8 GB
  • Storage – 512 GB SSD
  • GPU – Integrated graphics
  • Operating System – Windows 10 Home
  • Item Weight -1.85kg
  • Warranty – One-year Warranty

If you are not a fan of small-screen laptops, IdeaPad Slim 3i is worth checking out. It has a beautiful 15.6-inch screen, which does make the laptop a bit heavier when compared to other compact laptops, but I consider it to be a reasonable trade-off.

The 10th gen i5 processor of this laptop has 4 cores, 8 threads, and a base clock speed of 1.0 GHz. Being an entry-level processor, you can’t expect extreme performance from it. But it isn’t a big issue, considering this laptop is built for everyday usage and basic multitasking.

Thanks to the 512GB SSD, everything from installing a new application to browsing the internet feels fast and responsive on the IdeaPad Slim 3i.

The keyboard of this laptop is probably one of the best, if not the best, in this price range. It’s a full-size keyboard with an ideal key-travel distance and typing on it always feels great. Sadly, it isn’t backlit.

The battery backup of IdeaPad Slim 3i is surprisingly decent for a budget laptop. It can easily last for 4-5 hours on normal usage. And it can charge up to 80% in an hour. You can also turn-on the battery-saving mode which definitely makes the battery last a bit longer, but you will have to compromise with the laptop’s performance.

Pros

  • Great build quality
  • Impressive battery backup
  • Full size-display
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Nice audio quality

Cons

  • The keyboard isn’t backlit
  • Lacks a dedicated GPU

Verdict

Due to its great build quality, and specs capable of handling most everyday tasks, IdeaPad Slim 3i is one of the best laptops for students and working professionals.

Lenovo ThinkPad E495

best laptops under 50000 in india
  • Screen Size – 14 Inches

  • Processor Type – Ryzen 5 3500U

  • Hard Drive Size – 512GB SSD
  • GPU – Integrated Radeon™ graphics
  • Operating System – Windows 10 Home
  • Item Weight -2.1kg
  • Warranty – One-year Warranty
  • Battery Backup – 6-7 hours

Lenovo’s ThinkPad series is meant for heavy users. These laptops have great build quality and they pass many tests before entering the market. This specific model fits perfectly in your budget of 50K, and it’s backed by a serious spec sheet.

The Ryzen 5 3500U CPU of this ThinkPad laptop allows it handle multitasking with great ease, making it an ideal laptop under 50000 for students and professionals.

The 8GB RAM of ThinkPad is clocked at a speed of 3200MHz. This slight improvement gives this laptop a considerable advantage when it comes to handling some resource-intensive applications.

Thinkpad laptops always have the best keyboards and this one is definitely not an exception. Most compact laptops have keyboards that are uncomfortable to use, but that’s not the case with Lenovo ThinkPad. The key-travel distance is just perfect and the keys feel very premium. The only drawback to this otherwise perfect keyboard is that it isn’t backlit.

Apart from all the basic features, ThinkPad also has some unique and interesting ones. TPM 2.0 chip automatically encrypts important passwords and data and you can also use the fingerprint authentication to save yourself from any possible threat.

This specific model does not come with Windows 10, something that many users naturally expect from a laptop. However, installing an OS that you love shouldn’t be very hard if you have some past experience.

Pros

  • Powerful processor
  • Sturdy and well-built
  • Fingerprint reader
  • Nice battery backup

Cons

  • Doesn’t come with Windows 10
  • The keyboard isn’t backlit

Verdict

Built like a tank, Lenovo ThinkPad might not be the most stylish looking laptop around, but it’s great for heavy and rough usage and its powerful specs help it in delivering an unbeatable performance in this price range.

HP 15 Thin & Light 15s-du3032TU

best laptop under 50000 in india
  • Screen Size – 15.6 Inches
  • Resolution – 1080p (Full HD)
  • Processor Type -i5-1135G7
  • RAM Size – 8 GB
  • Hard Drive Size – 1 TB HDD
  • GPU – Integrated Graphics
  • Operating System – Windows 10 Home
  • Item Weight -1.76kg
  • Warranty – One-year Warranty
  • Battery Backup – 5-6 hours

Featuring an 11th gen CPU and excellent build, this HP laptop is perfect for those who want a reliable device that is meant to last, but you might have to play with your budget a little as currently, it costs more than 50K.

Being an 11th gen CPU, the i5 processor of this HP 15 laptop comes with Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics, which performs significantly better than intel UHD integrated graphics that most intel CPUs have. This means, even though you can’t play heavy games on this laptop, you can still expect some good performance while basic video-editing and light-gaming.

Even after having a great CPU, HP 15 often feels quite sluggish to use, all due to lack of an SSD. Installing one, however, shouldn’t be very hard as there’s an empty M.2 slot just waiting to be used. But this, still, might be a deal-breaker for many, considering that you have to pay more than 50K for this laptop in the first place.

Pros

  • 11th gen i5 processor
  • Comes from a great brand, HP
  • Looks premium
  • Backlit keyboard
  • Fingerprint reader

Cons

  • Costs more than 50K
  • Doesn’t come with an SSD

Verdict

Selling for a price slightly more than 50K, the 11th gen CPU and HP branding of this laptop are good enough to justify its price.

Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 82HS009GIN

Best laptop under 50000
  • Screen Size – 14 Inches
  • Resolution – 1080p (Full HD)
  • Processor Type -i5-10210U
  • RAM Size – 8 GB
  • Hard Drive Size – 512 GB SSD
  • GPU – Integrated graphics
  • Operating System – Windows 10 Home
  • Item Weight -1.5kg
  • Warranty – One-year Warranty
  • Battery Backup – 5-6 hours

There is nothing better than the convenience of a touch screen. With a touch screen, you can easily get more done in less time. Gladly, the Lenovo Ideapad Flex is an amazing laptop under 50000, that comes with a touch screen!

For a touch screen laptop, the specs need to be really balanced because they need to have a very less response time and this laptop has got that done really well. The 10th gen core i3 processor is really good and with a 512 GB SSD, you will have a super smooth experience with this laptop.

The display of this laptop wins it a plus point. It is an IPS grade super bright display with anti-glare technology and it is well complemented by a 1080p display.

This laptop is specifically designed for productivity and for this it comes with a pre-installed Windows 10 and MS office. Its WebCam is also pretty unique as it gives you an option to turn it off whenever you are not using it and it is a great relief if you believe that someone is spying on you from your very own laptop.

Lenovo officially claims the battery of this laptop to last 7 hours, but to be realistic, you can expect a battery backup of 5-6 hours.

Pros

  • Touch screen-based interface
  • Fingerprint reader
  • Backlit keyboard

Cons

  • Sound quality could have been better.

Verdict

Best laptop under 50000 with a touch screen interface.

ASUS VivoBook 14 X409FJ-EK501T

  • Hard Drive Size –  512GB M.2 SSD
  • GPU- GeForce MX230 GDDR5 2GB
  • Operating System – Windows 10 Home
  • Item Weight -1.60kg
  • Warranty – One-year Warranty

I have been a fan of Asus laptops because of the fact that they provide you value for money and this laptop is no exception.

This is an all SSD laptop with a storage capacity of 512 GBs and it is pretty adequate if you are a medium user. But there is one extra slot in this laptop if you want to make a storage expansion in the future.

This laptop is also a nice option for casual gamers as it comes with an MX 230 GPU. It’s a pretty decent GPU at this price range and it should work great not only for gaming but also for some video editing.

The looks and build quality of this laptop are eye-catching. This laptop has easily pulled off a classy slate grey finish with a little touch of black.

I personally liked the display quality of this laptop. It’s an FHD display with anti-glare technology and it for sure looks beautiful. And to make things even better, this laptop comes with a chiclet keyboard along with a touchpad which has a fingerprint reader installed in it.

Pros

  • Build quality
  • Display quality
  • MX 230 GPU

Cons

Dell Inspiron 3583

best laptops under 50000 in india 2024
  • Screen Size -15.6 Inches
  • Resolution – 1080p (Full HD)
  • Processor Type – i5-8265U
  • RAM Size – 8 GB
  • Hard Drive Size –  1TB HDD
  • GPU- 2GB AMD Radeon 520 Graphics
  • Operating System – Windows 10 Home
  • Item Weight – 2kg
  • Warranty – One-year Warranty

This list would have been incomplete without a Dell laptop and so, here it is. And this laptop has many reasons to be your next or first laptop.

I call a laptop of this type – laptop of masses and I do have a few reasons to call it so. The biggest reason among them is its versatility. As you might have seen in the table, this laptop has an i5 8th gen processor8 GBs of RAM, a 2 GB AMD GPU and 1 TB HDD. These specs make it a laptop of masses as this laptop is equally great for students, working professionals, or casual gamers. Thus, there’s a high probability that this might be the laptop you are looking for.

Another great feature of this laptop is Dell’s mobile connect technology which pairs your iOS or Android device to your laptop and with this, you will be able to see all your mobile notifications on your laptop screen.

But there’s one thing that I didn’t like about this laptop and that is its design. As you can see in the picture, it has some really thick bezels which have highly reduced its screen-to-body ratio. However, it is just my way of viewing things and it might not be a big problem for you.

Pros

  • A versatile laptop.
  • Comes from a great brand.

Cons

  • Thick bezels.

Verdict

Best laptop under 50000 by Dell.

Acer Aspire 3 A315-57G

best laptop under 50000 in 2024
  • Screen Size -15.6 Inches
  • Resolution – 1080p (Full HD)

  • RAM Size – 8 GB
  • Hard Drive Size –  1TB HDD
  • GPU- MX250 2GB
  • Operating System – Windows 10 Home
  • Item Weight – 1.8 kg
  • Warranty – One-year Warranty

Acer went an extra mile with this laptop and this makes it perhaps the best laptop on the list.

This laptop comes with the 10th gen variant of the i5 processor and this is the biggest reason you might want to go for this laptop. Don’t expect a miraculous performance difference between the 8th and 10th gen version of the i5 processor but even then there is a significant difference between the two and if you are buying a new laptop then you should go for the best. The best part of 10th gen processors is increased battery life as they are less power-hungry when compared to other Intel processors.

This laptop does not come with a pre-installed SSD but you do get an extra slot if you want to make an upgrade.

I have mixed feelings about the display of this laptop. I liked Acer BlueLightShield technology which protects your eyes from strain and Acer color intelligence which is responsible for accurate color production. But I found the viewing angles a bit disappointing.

10th gen processor-based laptops are more sleek and thin and this can be easily seen in this laptop.

Pros

  • 10th gen i5 processor.

Cons

  • Average viewing angles

Verdict

Best laptop under 50000 with a 10th gen i5 processor.

Lenovo IdeaPad S340 81WL002QIN

The convenience of carrying a laptop around with you is one of the biggest reasons for their popularity. Lenovo took this idea and came up with this laptop and they are promoting it with the phrase ” Unleash your inner traveller”. I don’t know about the traveller part but I am quite sure that this is a really great laptop.

You must have seen the specs in the table above. They are great for a laptop under 50000, aren’t they? These specs are adequate for working professionals, students, and some casual gaming.

The audio quality of this Laptop deserves to be mentioned and it might be a crucial factor to consider if you are a music lover. This laptop efficiently uses the Dolby-Audio technology which gives this laptop an edge over its competitors and a reason for you to buy it.

This laptop comes with a backlit keyboard and I am personally a fan of backlit keyboards because you know when you are working or playing on your laptop at night with lights off, you don’t go like ” Where’s the question mark ?”

If we talk about the battery life then it’s between 6-7 hours which is appropriate by today’s standards.

Pros

  • Sound quality
  • It may unleash your inner traveller.
  • 180 degrees hinge

Cons

  • No SSD

Verdict

Best laptop under 50000 in terms of sound quality.

We have come to the last laptop on this list. And this laptop is strictly for working professionals or students who are going to use this laptop only for studying.

This laptop has enough processing power, thanks to the 10 gen core i5 processor that this laptop has but it lacks heavily when it comes to gaming and storage capacity. It has no dedicated GPU and that is the biggest reason why this laptop isn’t good for gaming or video editing.

The storage is SSD-based but it is only 256 GBs which might become a problem pretty soon after you purchase this laptop. However, the storage is upgradeable so you won’t hit a dead-end if it runs out.

There is one serious perk of getting this laptop and that is the built-in Alexa. There is nothing better than getting things done with your laptop just by commands.

This is a type of laptop which might be useless for one category of people but at the same time, it might be the best option for another category of people. This laptop has no GPU and this is the biggest reason for gamers to stay away from this laptop but if you look closely you realize that this is perhaps the best option for working professionals as it has everything to fulfill their needs. So, if you are going to buy this laptop then be very sure about what you expect from this laptop.

Pros

  • 10th gen core i5 processor
  • Built in Alexa

Cons

  • No GPU
  • Less storage capacity

Verdict

HP made this laptop for very specific kind of buyers and if you are one of them then this might be the best laptop under 50000 for you.

Buying Guide: What to expect form a laptop under 50000

CPU

CPU

Not having very powerful CPUs is reasonable for laptops under 50000 as they are meant for nothing more than basic-multitasking and productivity. But still, they are some great value-for-money processors that are better than the rest. Considering how demanding most of the applications have become, it’s is highly recommended to go for a quad-core processor. Given below are three great processors found in laptops available under 50000

Ryzen 5 4500U

  • 6 cores and 6 threads
  • 2.3 GHz base frequency
  • 4.0 GHz max frequency

i5-1135G7

  • 4 cores and 8 threads
  • 2.4 GHz base frequency
  • 4.2 GHz max frequency

i5-10210U

  • 4 cores and 8 threads
  • 1.6 GHz base frequency
  • 4.2 GHz max frequency

Display

Display

You can either get a 14-inch screen laptop if you are looking for something sleek and portable or you can go for a 15.6-inch one if you don’t want to compromise with the viewing experience for the sake of portability. Also, you might find adjusting to a 14-inch screen somewhat difficult if you have been working on a comparatively bigger screen for a while.

Though great for content consumption, and daily usage, you can’t expect great color accuracy from a mid-range laptop. You might want to raise your budget if being extremely accurate with colors is a part of your job description. Or, you can always connect an external monitor to your laptop.

GPU

GPU

Under 50000, you can’t find many gaming laptops, but you can look for some laptops having MX series GPUs, like MI Horizon. These GPUs aren’t very powerful, but they are good enough for some occasional gaming and video-editing.

AMD CPUs have great integrated graphics, and some deliver pretty satisfactory performance. Intel Iris Xe graphics also prove to be a great alternative to MX series GPUs

RAM

RAM
  • Most laptops under 50000 have 8GBs of RAM
  • 8GBs is adequate for multi-tasking, media consumption, and web-browsing with 4-5 tabs open

Storage

Storage
  • With a budget of 50000, you can easily go for an SSD storage based laptop
  • An SSD-laptop boots faster and feels more responsive in comparison to an HDD-laptop
  • SSDs, being quite power-efficient, help in improving a laptop’s battery backup

Upgradability

You can’t ignore upgradability if you plan to use your laptop for a while before you finally relieve it from all of its duties. Though you can’t change everything that’s inside a laptop, most laptops allow you to add an extra SSD or a RAM stick.

No, laptop generation is not the only thing that determines the processor speed. While comparing processors you need to consider many things like Base Frequency, number of cores and threads, etc.  For example, i7 8700k has a base frequency of 3.7 GHz and i5 10210u has a base frequency of 1.6 GHz

Do faster processors use more battery?

Yes, they do. Faster processors have high clock speeds and more cores and threads. So, they require more power to function optimally and due to this they also generate more heat.

    • Hello Jaswinder,
This HP laptop is a great choice for gaming ,and it would have been in the top 3, but this article wasn’t centred around gaming laptops. I will definitely feature this laptop while writing an article on gaming laptops under 50000. But I must tell you that I have a better option for you ,if you are looking for a gaming laptop in this budget.
Here, have look at the Asus TUF Gaming FX505GD. It comes with an 8th gen core i5 processor which is way better than Ryzen 5-3550H and it has a GTX 1050 4 GB. Here’s the link – ASUS TUF
      And thanks for the suggestion.
      Cheers,
